Advocate Ms. Hemlata Mahishi , President, AIFWL



Advocate Hemlata Mahishi is currently President of Karnataka Federation of Women Lawyers. After completing her M.A.L.LB., she has been practicing as an advocate on trial side as well as in High Court since 1975. She is serving as an expert member in many Sexual Harassment Complaints Committees in reputed educational and other institutions. She has served as a member in Karnataka Women’s Commission, Film Censor Board, Kannada Development Authority, Kannada University Syndicate, as a legal advisor in Justice Someshekar Commission on church attacks in Karnataka. She has been one of the editors of Kannada Law Reporter Published by Karnataka High Court for 9 years. She is a writer and has published fifteen books in Kannada language which consist of story collections, Essay collections and travelogues of Europe and Australia- Newzealand. She has also served as the president of Kannada Women writers Association for several years.
